Shipping, Taxes & Customs
Our warehouses are located in the Canary Islands. For this reason, all shipments to destinations outside the Canary Islands are subject to import duties and taxes.
Although the Canary Islands are part of Spain, they have a different tax system from the rest of the European Union. This means that shipments to mainland Spain and other EU countries are considered exports. Therefore, they are subject to customs checks and the payment of VAT and any applicable duties in the destination country.
Taxes in the Canary Islands
In the Canary Islands, VAT is not applied. Instead, there is a local tax called IGIC (Canary Islands General Indirect Tax), which is 7%. This tax is included in the price of products for shipments within the islands.
Shipments Outside the Canary Islands
Orders with a destination outside the Canary Islands are exempt from the 7% IGIC. However, upon delivery, the shipping company will require the customer to pay the customs duties and taxes applicable in their country. These costs are not calculated or charged at the time of purchase on our website.
Potential additional charges may include:
-
VAT: the Value Added Tax of the destination country.
-
Customs duties: a tax applied to imported goods.
-
Handling and administration fees: the shipping company's costs for handling customs procedures.
For detailed information on import costs, we recommend checking the website of your country's customs agency.
